The person who has preserved his/her innocence and is humble, trusting and prayerful can become a saint. And the person who has sinned but rose again and it humble, trusting and prepared to struggle can also become a saint. The road to holiness is always open (APD, 1957).

That seems to say it all. We just have to apply it to our lives.
