If we continue with frequent checks on our spiritual state we will eventually develop a habit of checking and this will evolve into a continuous reflection on what we are doing and why (VMC 896).

From Father Tom: Besides simply checking we can also make a short offering to the Lord of what we are doing.  It only takes a few seconds to turn deliberately to the Master- recalling that He is all the time living and working with us.
