Souls are attracted by goodness, patience, persuasion.  This is the way to do them good (BM 279).

From Father Tom: Undoubtedly.  Truly hardened souls are rare.  More common are the cynical type who see religion and morality and the Church as something to be treated with contempt. Perhaps these need a little more firmness...what do you think?
