What are these lives which are neither of God nor of the world? A tepid person is not good either for himself or for others. And he is not good for himself and for God (APD 1963, 405).

From Father Tom: Tepidity...the bête noir of men like Fr. Alberione whose disposition what the very opposite. He had a cordial dislike of those he considered slackers--and his favorite praise was that someone "had worked enough for four."
