A Thought From Mother Angelica

"God is simple. He doesn't have multiple ends. He doesn't say, "If I do this, she's going to do that" and "If I do that, she'll be humble." No. Those are all merely effects. God has one thing in mind: to make you run to Him in all your needs."

FROM THE FOUNER: The flower of charity is benevolence—but it presupposes habitual kindly thoughts. It is a small step from benevolence to courtesy.

~ Daily Meditations: The Great Truths

Beware of becoming an egoist. Good words, good desires, courtesy, kindness, and delicacy come from the heart. A good heart knows how to give whatever is needed of itself, whenever it is needed.

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR DECEASED: As you remember the souls of your relatives, families and friends, please pray for the deceased members of the Pauline Family in a special way today and during the entire month of November. Today is the Solemnity of All Saints and it heads up the month of November, the month of poor souls.

Eternal rest grant to the souls in Purgatory, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

THOUGHTS:

“The predominating fault is easily known.  It is the one which ordinarily leads the will and determines activity.”  ~ Daily Meditations: The Great Truths p. 113

We must know ourselves, with the help of God’s grace, if we are to have any chance or correcting our faults and becoming “perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect.”

There are two types of tendencies:

1)     The indifferent: laziness, slothfulness, indolence, indifference, lack of compassion, cowardice, disregard for God and one’s neighbor, and for one’s own dignity.
2)     The violent: pride, jealousy, anger, lack of reflection, lack of moderation, vulgarity, independence

                     ~Daily Meditations: The Great Truths p. 113

Some Thoughts From the Founder:

* Don't talk before doing something; it may not get off the ground.
* Don't talk while you're doing it; you are just wasting time.
* Don't talk when you've done it; it'll spake for itself!
