Mary, Mother of Grace

MARY, MOTHER OF GRACE
Progress in virtue and merits... requires a continual flow of graces.
It means replacing human thoughts with Christian principles and reasoning.
It means being able to say with truth: “I live now not with my own life but with the life of Christ who lives in me” (Gal 2:20).
All this is the work of Mary. She formed Jesus Christ, considered as a physical human being; she received then the vocation and the grace to form Jesus Christ, considered as the Mystical Body.

TODAY'S SONG
O Be Glad My Soul Rejoice is an adaptation of Mary's own song of praise, the Magnificat, from the 2-CD set Handmaiden of the Lord by the Daughters of St Paul choir.
TODAY'S PRAYER
MARY, LADY OF FATIMA, MOTHER OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD, have pity on your scattered children, on so many who are still
straying like sheep without a shepherd. Save the innocent, convert sinners, strengthen the weak, sustain the wavering, comfort the troubled, assist the sorrowful, form many saints, give us apostles and good pastors.
You know, Mother, what a valley of tears we live in, how we walk in the midst of so many enemies, what fragile clay we are made of. Turn your merciful gaze toward us. May you lead us to Jesus Way and Truth, and Life, to the eternal Shepherd of all, to the joy of heaven.
Queen of Angels, Queen of Patriarchs, Queen of Prophets, pray for us!
Today is the fifth day of the novena in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima, Portugal.
Prayer adapted from the Prayers of the Pauline Family, by Blessed James Alberione. Image of the Mother and Child Enthroned is from Olite, Spain; photo by Sr Anne Flanagan, FSP.
