Prayer is the breath of the supernatural life. If it is wanting, the soul dies spiritually (BM 503).
From Father Tom: But not only recited prayers. Far more useful are the spontaneous expressions of our feeling toward the Lord and especially the constant invocations all of us can say no matter what our duties or health may be.
