The saint is not a spineless, irresponsible person, unable to assume his role in life. St. Paul sees holiness as characteristic of the perfect human being come to full maturity. (SP, Sept 1954).
From Father Tom: This does not mean that we are obviously superior to others. The essential superior to others. The essential is that we have developed our gifts to the maximum of our abilities. How we rate vis a vis others is not an issue. How do you rate yourself?
