Jesus has said, "Blessed Are the poor in Spirit" (Mt 5: 3). They are blessed because theirs will be the kingdom of heaven. One leaves the little for the much, the temporary for the eternal, the world for God (FSP 46, p. 505).

From Father Tom: The problem is to LEAVE it. It's amazing how many things look so good when we feel we should say "no."
