A bad heart is insensitive to the pains of others; or rather, is incapable of seeing them (BM, p. 100).

From Father Tom: More than a “bad” heart we might talk about an “insensitive” or “giddy” heart. The truly “bad” are rare; the other type can be found in the least expected places.
