When there is the soul of the apostolate—the spirit of prayer life—all is made clear in the light of Jesus the Master; there is a concern to seek our God and the souls of people; everything is made holy; everything is a source of merit; religious life is lived in shared joy (UPS I, 22)

A Special Prayer to Our Most Blessed Mother

Most Holy Mary Virgin Mother of God,
I am unworthy to be your servant.
Yet moved by your motherly care for me
and longing to serve you,
I choose you this day to be my Queen,
my Advocate, and my Mother.
I firmly resolve ever
to be devoted to you
and to do what I can to encourage others
to be devoted to you.
My loving Mother,
through the Precious Blood of your Son shed for me,
I beg you to receive me
as your servant forever.
Aid me in my actions
and beg for me the grace
never by thought, word, or deed
to be displeasing in your sight
and that of your most holy Son.
Remember me, dearest Mother,
and do not abandon me at the hour of death.

Mt 4: 12-17, 23-25

Yesterday evening the dear Father invited us all to make a pact with the Lord. The pact that he made: study for one [hours]. This morning in the meditation he repeated to us the importance, the foundations, the conditions, the invitation. His word was inflamed and persuasive and full of conviction (Diario, 7.1. 1919)

Eph 3: 2-3a, 5-6

Mt 2: 1-12

Particular enlightenment came from the Host and a greater understanding of that invitation of Jesus “venite ad me omnes”  “come to me, everyone”; he seemed to fathom the heart of the great Pope, the Church’s call [for help], and the priest’s true mission (AD, 15).

We ask this from Mary: to make us saints, to change our thoughts into thoughts of faith; change our feelings into feelings of true love for Jesus; change our way of living obedience, charity, service to sisters, daily sacrifice and diligence in little things (AP 1958/1, pp. 18-19).

Projecting himself mentally into the future he (the young Alberione) felt that in the new century, generous people would experience what he was feeling; and that teamed up into an organization they could bring about what Toniolo kept on repeating “Unite…” (AD, 17)

He (the young Alberione) had times of greater grace that determined his vocation and particular mission. The first, his vocation to the priesthood; the second, the special direction his life was taking; the third, the move from the idea of an organization of Catholics to that of an organization of religious (AD, 7).
