Christ needs to make our prayer his prayer and this happens when what we ask is for the glory of God and peace among people (BM 493).
From Father Tom: We can rightfully pray earnestly for a special intention and strongly wish that it be granted. But always with the awareness that we submit to the will of God, not just because He is bigger and stronger, but because what He wants is always the best possible for us.
