People take externals into consideration and appreciate what they see and hear, but God sees the heart and the reality (RSP p. 152).
From Father Tom: This is not to say that we can neglect externals and ask people to look into our hearts! Something else is meant: we must not see external approval as EVERYTHING, as the only intelligent goal. What? You want approval of your limping through life from the other cripples?!
