We know by experience how inconstant we are.  We need to lea(r)n or Jesus, pray and groan, mistrust ourselves and confide in Him (BM 165).

From Father Tom: That seems so simple except that we don't easily get to the "pray and groan" stage and it we do it's likely to be about our health or business.  It is not easy to be really concerned about the spirit in the very unspiritual modern world.
