The person of bad character is like a dreary and depressing day. He inspires fear, often spouts poisonous words, has few flashes of joy and a lot of tempests (BM p.89).

FROM FATHER TOM: Besides inspiring fear, we might consider how this individual inspires compassion. Even at the physical level, there are diseases that we treat best by gentle means.
