The Church crosses the stormy sea of this world agitated by continuous tempests. We must recognize that only the power of her divine Founder prevents that she goes underwater, in spite of her weakness. Jesus Christ seems to be sleeping, but He is always vigilant (BM 558-559).

From Father Tom:  Another thought on the same lines (could the compiler of these quotes not have found a new line of thought?) Perhaps he could but perhaps also--in our confused and sometimes heathen world--certain points cannot be often made. And our experiences of our own weakness tell us the same thing.
