Hypocrisy make a display of qualities it does not have so as to win esteem and benevolence it does not merit (BM 96).
From Father Tom: We are all so small and insignificant--but hate to admit it! What's the problem? We did did not bring ourselves into existence, we cannot exist without food and drink, we depend on others for almost everything...are we good for ANYTHING?
