The work of perfection involves a daily making and remaking of our mind, heart and will so as to become a complete person (Sacerdote, ecco la tua Meditazione).
From Father Tom: The meaning here seems to be that we are always less than we might be because some defect or weakness dogs us all through life. This however, should not harm our peace of mind. Perhaps we'll have a "death-bed conversion, meaning a special divine gift as we go into eternity.
