The poor people, when they stand before the rich with their torn clothes and their beseeching demeanor, they reveal their total need and all their hope (BM p. 635).

FROM FATHER TOM:  And the real poor?  Have we not all been told who they are? Do we know? Yes, we do, because all too often we ourselves are the real poor--lacking in virtue, in Divine Grace, in holiness.
