We know that spiritual tendencies and carnal tendencies exist, so we have to guide ourselves through a firm discipline and with the help of grace (MCS p. 477).

FROM FATHER TOM: The grace is always there, at our disposal. The "firm discipline," on the other hand, may be just a bit beyond our reach. Lord have mercy on us. Christ have mercy on us!
