December 14, 2015 With Blessed Father Alberione and With Father Tom

MONDAY, DECEMBER 14
ST JOHN OF THE CROSS, DOCTOR OF THE
CHURCH
THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT

Sport a smile, bear with patience what causes some disturbance, create peace, always say a word that reconciles, sacrifice a little by finding occasions to do some good: all this means goodness (FSP 56, pp. 2925-293).

FROM FATHER TOM: All rather obvious - though certainly rare. However, it should have included firm action against evil. The "meek and mild" Christ is also shown as lashing the sellers in the Temple because they were exploiting the people.

Pardon is the Instrument...

December 13, 2015 With Blessed Father Alberione and With Father Tom

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2015
THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Let the sound of joy be hears, let it reach the boundaries of the earth because Jesus Christ has liberated his people from their sins (RSP, p. 470).

FROM FATHER TOM: This is one blessing the too few Catholics experience in our time. The blessing of a good Confession and a fresh start on the road to Paradise. Too many are traveling in the opposite direction. Let's practice and promote our Save the Dying devotion.

December 11.2015 With Blessed Father Alberione and With Father Tom

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11

Canon Francesco Chiesa renewed every year during his spiritual exercises three resolutions: humility, purity, doing the will of God. For him, the will of God was like a sun toward which he always turned and from which he drew light and warmth (APD 1960, p. 276).

FROM FATHER TOM The will of God is this for everyone: the sure way to Heaven and our vocation is the will of God for each of us - a privilege and a responsibility.

God's Everlasting Mercy

Our only hope, our only confidence, our only assured promise, Lord, is Your mercy.

God's Mercy is Bigger...

December 10, 2015 With Blessed Father Alberione and With Father Tom

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10

The kingdom of Jesus Christ is a kingdom of righteousness, and people must give Him the homage of their wills: accepting his precepts (BM, p. 695.)

FROM FATHER TOM: The human will marks us off from the animals - or it should. And it does whenever we persevere in a useful but boring task. From that point of view, perhaps we are less like the animals than we sometimes think!
