Faith must be united to charity and that charity must be patient, actively doing good.  Faith and charity prepare us for the eternal vision and joy of heaven (BM 569).

From Father Tom: The two are strictly connected. Profound faith leads to being charitable even toward those who are anything but deserving of it and to a strong conviction that our enemies can do us no real harm because God is in charge of everything.
