The Secular Institutes answer a need of the present time--new forms in conformity with new needs, opening a new journey of light and love for those who want to collaborate in the most effective way for the spread of God's kingdom (SP Apr 1958).
FROM FATHER TOM: The meaning here seems to be that those who are prevented for some reason from joining the Religious Life can do equally well, or even better, in the Institutes.
