FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Dt 30: 10-14
Ps 69: 30-37
Col 1: 15-20
Lk 10: 25-37
Jesus rejects sterile compassion but welcome one that is salutary and fruitful (Carissimi in San Paolo, p. 1263).
From Father Tom: "Compassion" from the Latin "cum" and "Patire" really means suffering on account of someone else's problem. It is very beautiful and typically a Jesus characteristic--"he had compassion" on the people.
