The bread of the soul is the Word of God. "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." (VMC 1017)
It would take a brave spirit to say this out loud today and yet the real "starving millions" are those (including Catholics) who have stopped going to church or have left it altogether.
