You are salt, you are light, you are the city on the mountain...This is the thought of our Divine Master (VMC 1028).
Perhaps you sometimes feel that you are very far from this standard. But...just look around: your friends' kid in jail or dead from a traffic-accident; marriages breaking up before your eyes; neighbors who don't go to Church anymore...surely you are MUCH better than that?
Reflection: There is always someone better, and perhaps someone worse that we ourselves. We can never know for sure. Only God knows the whys and the wherefores. What we do know is that we are meant to be a light unto others; that we may indeed be the "only Gospel" some will ever read. It is a great responsibility and one that can only be carried out with the help of the Divine Master. Jesus, Master, Way, Truth and Life, have mercy on us. Be our strength, our shield and our salvation. Never let us lead anyone away from you.
