From Father Tom: It is not for us to change the ending of our lives: we depend all the time on the love and care of God. And death can come very swiftly. somehow, this seems (to) be forgotten in  the midst of the recent series of natural disasters. Loss of life, yes. Loss of supernatural life? Does anybody care?
