The Christian remains at peace in the midst of his pain, not turning to the right or to the left, but continuing his journey to heaven (BM 224).

From Father Tom: Indeed, pain may even increase the Christian's conviction that he is very much on the right road, regardless. Ahead of him always looms the lonely figure on the cross, to inspire, enlighten, sustain.
