Vatican 2 was truly an ecumenical Council and indeed for the 2,500 Council Fathers it could have been called a Council of humanity due to the vision of the great problems it dealt with (SP Dec 1965).

From Father Tom: That was certainly the intent, but the unseen observer at every session was Satan. He made no speeches but he doubtless refined his tactics and the results are sadly visible.
