Mary's work at Nazareth was not something to attract popular admiration, but the angels in heaven admired how assiduous it was, done with perfect love for God and with all the courtesy and diligence of one who knows how to serve God in everything (BM p. 379).

From Father Tom: An example we can all follow--if we want to. But there can also be the desire to not only to do things in a hidden way but discreetly to attract attention to our "hiddenness...Ah, poor human nature..!
