From Father Tom: This is our secret also, but more than "joy" which can also be founded on an exaggerated self-appraisal. Let's be content with a general thankfulness to God for His many gifts.

Normally, human beings start their lives in a family, live it in a family and there also conclude it. The greatest merits are acquired mainly with the family (BM p. 170)

From Father Tom: How this thoughts resonates with me after my HFI experience! Of course the major merits flow from family like where there is less prayer perhaps but a lot more suffering. The Divine Master spent 30 years in the family atmosphere--and he surely knew what He was doing
