A person can be converted even late in life, but then receive such an abundance of grace, light and love as to feel a very great and deep repentance (APD 961, 126).

From Father Tom: St. Augustine is the most noted of the Saints who received these great gifts but there have been thousands of others and perhaps even among ourselves.
