1 Cor 15: 1-11

Ps 118: 1-2, -16-17, 28

Jn 19: 25-27

Jesus is taken down from the cross and laid in the arms of the Virgin. She sees that head crowned with thorns, that wounded side, those pierced hands; and she reads in that body the story of the passion and pain of the Savior (FSP 43, p. 443).

From Father Tom: And if only the Savior’s torments had automatically brought salvation to all of us! But no, millions will not avail of it and this thought must have been the final nail in those wounded hands.
