If we want to win souls over, let us think of their bodies. The Conferences of St. Vincent de Paul bring people light and comfort for their souls as much as for their bodies. It is difficult to talk about the Eucharist to someone with an empty stomach (BM p. 329).

From Father Tom: An unusual statement...coming from Alberione. Very much out of character though we read that he always carried something to give to a poor person he might meet..
