When God calls, everyone must leave what he prefers--even contemplation-and run to the battles of God (BM 306).
From Father Tom: As the years pass, obedience becomes more and more difficult and we are better-educated and generally smarter than the individual given the title "superior". The superior, on the other hand, has to bear patiently a great deal of resistance, not to talk of abuse. Both superior and inferior need plenty of virtue.
