You correspond to your vocation by means of study: study in all its forms, whether for the subjects that must be learned in school, or for the manner of accomplishing the apostolate (RSP, p 515).

From Father Tom:  An old proverb says something about education being a "light load." It is more: it is the secret of a consistently-progressive spiritual and secular life: if one plan does not work, e turn to another, avoiding the temptation to give up on prayer and work altogether.
